Before Use: Do not soak the wood in water before use. Simply pour your beverage directly into the dry cup.
After Use (Cleaning): Right after use, gently rinse only the inside and the rim of the cup with running water. Lightly shake off excess water, then place it upside down in a well-ventilated, shaded area to air-dry completely.
Pro-Tip for Longevity: Avoid wetting the outer surface excessively. Too much moisture on the outside can cause the natural wood to expand, which may create minor gaps over time.
Enjoying Traditional Sake: To experience sake in the true, traditional Japanese style—and to completely prevent any natural weeping or minor seepage from the raw wood seams—we highly recommend placing a beautiful small ceramic saucer or tray underneath the Masu cup during your tasting session.
