LIVE CHRISTMAS TREE THAT KEEPS GROWING Bring home a real, living Christmas tree that isn't cut down or tossed in January. Costa Farms Norfolk Island Pine (Araucaria heterophylla) is a live evergreen houseplant with soft, tiered branches and a classic Christmas tree shape. It is a faux or artificial tree alternative that grows with you. Floor-standing tree for living rooms, entryways and offices. Stands about 36 in. tall in a 10-inch decor pot (pot base to top). Expected mature height is 96 in. (8 ft), reached only after many years. Add your own ornaments. QUICK ANSWERS How tall does it get? It is a slow grower. Reaching its expected 96 in. (8 ft) can take many years, and some indoor trees stay shorter. It can live for years. Is it pet friendly? Yes. The ASPCA lists Norfolk Island Pine as non-toxic to cats and dogs. It is grown for ornamental use, not to be eaten, so keep it away from chewers. Sap may irritate sensitive skin. Is it a real pine? Not botanically. It is a South Pacific evergreen conifer that looks like a pine and does well indoors. Can it live outdoors? Only year-round in USDA Zones 10-11. Elsewhere, keep it indoors, away from frost. Do I need a stand? No. It arrives potted and ready to decorate. INDOOR PLANT CARE Light: bright light, ideally 5+ hours of sun near a sunny window. Water: about 2-3 cups once a week; let excess drain and never let it sit in water. The pot has no drainage holes, so pour off excess. Feed in spring and summer. Repot into a pot 2 inches wider when outgrown. Older lower branches may brown with age or dry air; keep it away from heating vents. HOLIDAY DECOR AND GIFT IDEAS Trim it with ornaments, ribbon and lights, then keep it as greenery after Christmas. A lasting Christmas gift, housewarming gift or hostess gift for teachers, coworkers and new homeowners. Every plant is hand-selected and unique, so fullness, shape and color may differ from the photo. Farm-grown by Costa Farms since 1961.
